Terms of Use

Welcome to CVlume! These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website and resume-generation service (collectively, the “Service”). Please read these Terms carefully before you begin using the Service.

Acceptance of Terms: By using this site and its features, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms, as well as all other policies referenced herein (Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, etc.). If you do not fully or partially agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Parties to the Agreement: The terms “Service”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the owner and operator of CVlume. The terms “you” and “user” refer to you as a user of our Service, whether or not you are registered.

Age Restrictions: The Service is intended for adult users. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service on your own. Persons under 18 may not use CVlume except with the explicit consent of a parent or guardian. By registering or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that you have obtained the required parental/guardian consent and have full legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

Changes to Terms: We may modify these Terms from time to time. In the event of material changes, we will notify users by updating the “Last Updated” date above and by sending an email or displaying a notice upon your next login. Continued use of the Service after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should discontinue using the Service.

1. Description of the Service

CVlume provides an online service that helps users create professional resumes using a combination of design templates and artificial intelligence. The main features of the Service include (but are not limited to):

  • Creating and editing resumes through a user-friendly web interface with design templates.
  • Generating textual suggestions for resume sections (for example, experience or skills descriptions) using AI (the Gemini model).
  • Saving multiple resume versions/templates in your account.
  • Downloading the finished resume in PDF or DOCX format.
  • Other related features such as resume improvement tips and analytics.

The Service is constantly evolving. We reserve the right to add new features, or to modify or remove existing features at our discretion, in order to improve the quality of the Service or for other reasons. We will make efforts to inform you of significant functional changes, but such changes may occur without notice. The Service is provided on an “as is” basis – meaning we do not guarantee that any particular feature will always be available or function exactly as it did at the time of your registration. Nevertheless, we strive to keep the Service useful and convenient for you.

Any new feature or update that expands or improves the current Service is also subject to these Terms.

2. Registration and Account

To use the full functionality of CVlume, you must register and log in. Registration is possible in two ways:

  • Sign in with Google: You can use our single sign-on option “Sign in with Google”. If you choose this, you will be redirected to the Google authorization page, where you allow us to obtain certain information from your Google profile (as described in the Privacy Policy). After granting access, your CVlume account will be automatically created using the data from Google.
  • Email and Password: You can create an account by providing a valid email address and choosing a password.

Data requirements: Upon registration (or login), you guarantee that the information you provide (name, email, etc.) is accurate and up-to-date. You are required to keep your contact email address current, as we may use it to communicate with you about your account or the Service.

Account security: You are responsible for securing access to your CVlume account. If you sign in with Google, ensure your Google account is protected (e.g. strong password, two-factor authentication). If you register with an email and password, you must keep your password secret and not share it. We are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from compromise of your credentials, but please notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised. We will cooperate with you to block or secure the account if needed.

Account limits: You are allowed to create only one CVlume account for your own use. Creating multiple accounts by the same person (for example, to obtain multiple trial periods or bypass other restrictions) is prohibited and may result in the blocking of all related accounts without notice. Your account is intended solely for your personal use; do not share access to it with others. You may not sell, transfer, or rent your account to any third party.

3. Subscription, Payments, and Free Access

Free access (Freemium)

CVlume is available in a free version with basic functionality (creating and editing resumes, saving them in your account, etc.). Free access is not time-limited.

Premium subscription

For users who want advanced features (including AI resume generation, access to premium templates, downloading finished PDFs without watermarks, and other features), a paid subscription is available. The subscription is currently monthly with automatic renewal. The price of the subscription is listed on our website and may change in the future. Any price changes will not affect periods you have already paid for. If the subscription price changes, we will notify you in advance (for example, 30 days before the next billing date) via email or other means.

Payment processor

Subscription payments are processed through our authorized reseller, Paddle. Paddle acts as the official Merchant of Record for our product. This means that legally the transaction is between you and Paddle, and Paddle then transfers the funds to us, minus any fees. When you sign up for a paid subscription, you agree to Paddle’s automatic recurring billing to your chosen payment method – currently monthly (on the same day of the month when you first started your paid plan). Paddle may also store your card information for future payments (this is their standard procedure for recurring payments). We or Paddle will send you an email receipt after each successful charge.

Payment terms

You agree to provide complete and accurate payment information (card number, expiration date, CVV, cardholder name, or other required details) when subscribing. You warrant that you are authorized to use the chosen payment method and that it has sufficient funds for payment. If a payment is declined (for example, due to insufficient funds, expired card, technical error, etc.), we may temporarily suspend your subscription. Paddle may retry the charge after a few days; if those attempts also fail, the subscription will not renew and your account will be moved to non-subscribed (limited functionality) mode.

Cancellation of subscription

You can cancel the automatic renewal at any time. This can be done in the settings of your account on our website (in the “Subscription” or “Billing” section), or by contacting our support if needed. After cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the already paid period, after which it will not renew and access to premium features will end. We recommend canceling at least 24 hours before the next billing date to avoid another charge (although you can cancel immediately after payment – this will only stop future charges without affecting your current paid access). Note: Deleting the app or your account does not automatically cancel the subscription – you must explicitly perform the cancellation as described. If you delete your account without canceling the subscription, new charges may continue, as the payment provider will not know your account has been deleted. Therefore, please be sure to cancel the subscription before or at the same time you delete your account.

Changes in fees

We may periodically review and adjust the price of our services. If the price of your current subscription changes, we will notify you at least 30 days before the new price takes effect. The notice will be sent to your registered email address and/or displayed when you log in. If you do not agree with the price change, you may cancel the subscription before the new price becomes effective. If you do not cancel and continue to use the Service after the start of the new billing cycle, that will constitute your acceptance of the new price.

Taxes

The subscription price may not include applicable taxes (e.g., VAT). Paddle will determine your country at checkout and, if required, apply tax according to local law (for example, VAT for EU countries). The receipt will show the amount of tax if charged. You are responsible for paying any taxes that may apply to your purchase, other than those we are legally required to pay.

Refunds

Subscription payment covers access to a digital product/service that is provided immediately upon payment. For this reason, subscription payments are generally non-refundable, except as required by law or these Terms (for example, in the case of an accidental or duplicate charge). If you cancel during a paid month, the unused days are not refunded, but access to premium features remains until the end of the paid period. We also do not provide refunds if you forgot to cancel before the subscription auto-renewed.

If you experience problems with the Service, you may contact us – we will consider each case individually. However, our general policy is “no refunds,” except where expressly required by law or these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

We strive to maintain a safe and constructive environment for all our users. Accordingly, you agree to comply with the following rules when accessing the Service:

General user responsibilities

  • You must use the Service only for lawful purposes. You are prohibited from using CVlume for any activities that violate the laws of Ukraine, the European Union, the United States of America, or other applicable laws and international norms.
  • You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or related systems, or to interfere with their operation (for example, through hacking, spreading viruses, DoS attacks, etc.).
  • You agree not to register accounts by automated means (bots), not to impersonate any other person or organization, and not to mislead us or other users about your identity.
  • You agree not to use the Service to harm or harass others. For example, you may not stalk, threaten, harass, or insult anyone who uses the service or works on it (including our support team).

Content restrictions

  • Any materials you input into the Service (resume texts, photos, comments, etc.) must not infringe the rights of others. In particular, you are prohibited from uploading or submitting any content that is defamatory, offensive, discriminatory, pornographic, violent, promotes illegal activity, or otherwise violates third-party intellectual property or privacy rights. You guarantee that you are either the author of all provided materials or have the necessary rights and permissions to use them in this manner.
  • You are forbidden from attempting to upload any malicious code through the Service or taking any actions that may damage the technical infrastructure (viruses, trojans, spyware, etc.). Also prohibited are any actions that automate the Service’s usage in an unauthorized way – for example, using scripts to bulk-create resumes or overload the server with requests (DDoS).
  • Avoid sending through our Service any information that is not relevant to its intended use. For example, do not use sections (if any) for feedback or comments to advertise third-party products or to distribute spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes, etc.

AI features and limited use

If you use AI features, you agree to do so responsibly and only for personal or professional purposes related to creating your resume. Mass or automated use of AI features (for example, trying to generate thousands of different resumes or texts via scripts) is prohibited. We have implemented a credit/usage limit system for AI requests (the detailed terms may be described in the relevant section of the site). Each AI generation may deduct a certain number of credits from your balance, and these must be used in good faith. If we notice excessive activity beyond normal use by an individual user, we reserve the right to temporarily suspend or limit your access to AI capabilities, and in cases of repeated or severe violation – to close your account without a refund. This is necessary to ensure stable system operation for all users.

Prohibition of unauthorized commercial use

The CVlume Service is provided for your personal use (or for internal use in your individual professional activities, for example preparing your own resume, or if you are a recruiter or HR consultant, assisting a client with their resume – but in that case each end user must have a separate account). You do not have the right to resell, rent, or provide commercial access to our Service to third parties without written permission. It is also prohibited to use the Service to create a competing or similar service (for example, mass-generating template resume texts with our help and publishing them as your own commercial product).

Compliance with copyright and trademarks

All proprietary content of the Service (interface, text descriptions, CVlume logo, resume template designs, code, etc.) is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You agree not to copy, modify, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written consent. The only exception is your own resume content and results obtained through the Service – you may freely use the resumes you generate for personal purposes (sending to employers, printing, etc.). However, even then, the template designs or automatically generated texts that are part of our Service cannot be sold or distributed in bulk.

Other prohibited actions

Without limiting the generality of the above, while using the Service you may not:

  • Perform any automated data collection from the site (scraping, data mining) without our permission.
  • Bypass, disable, or otherwise interfere with any security measures we use to protect the Service (for example, attempting to circumvent access or usage restrictions).
  • Use someone else’s username (login) or impersonate another person or organization.
  • Upload content that contains hidden 1x1 pixel images, trackers, or use cookies for unintended purposes (i.e., inserting your own tracking code into our Service).
  • Attempt to affect the Service’s functionality by deliberately increasing load (this includes writing bots that would mass-create accounts or generate requests).
  • Use CVlume in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose (for example, as a platform for hosting files or exchanging messages unrelated to resumes).
  • Violate the rights, privacy, or dignity of other users or any third party.

We reserve the right to decide at our discretion whether a violation of acceptable use has occurred and to take appropriate measures (see 6. Termination and Suspension of Access below).

5. User Content and Rights

“User content” means any materials that you create, upload, or otherwise provide through the Service. In CVlume, the main user content is resume texts, as well as possibly a photo (e.g. if you add your photograph to the resume), additional documents, comments, or feedback you may leave.

We do not claim ownership of your content. Copyright and ownership of the content of your resumes remain with you. This means that you are the sole owner of the information you have entered about yourself, and you are free to use your resumes and other materials at your discretion outside of the Service.

License to us: By providing your content in our Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free worldwide license to use that content solely for the purpose of providing our services to you. This includes, for example, the right to store your data on our servers, to transfer it to our subprocessors (such as the AI module) for processing at your request, and to display your resumes to you for editing or downloading, printing, etc. This license does not grant us the right to do anything with your content outside the CVlume Service – we will not publish your resumes publicly, nor will we give your texts to anyone for analysis or use them in marketing materials, etc., without your explicit consent.

Content monitoring: We do not pre-screen your content and are not responsible for what you submit. However, if we receive a complaint or become aware that certain content violates these Terms (for example, contains prohibited material or infringes third-party rights), we reserve the right to take action. Such actions may include editing or removing the illegal content, temporarily blocking your access, or closing your account – depending on the situation.

Feedback: If you voluntarily provide us with any feedback, ideas, or suggestions regarding the Service (for example, you find a bug, propose a new feature, or otherwise communicate with us), you agree that we may use such feedback without any restrictions or compensation to you. We appreciate your help in improving the Service, but we are not obliged to implement or consider every suggestion.

6. Termination and Suspension of Access

By your initiative: You may stop using CVlume at any time. If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated data, contact us via email or use the account settings options. Account deletion will result in the loss of all your resumes and data, so we recommend downloading any important materials in advance. Please note that even after account deletion, some of your data may remain with us for a limited time according to the Privacy Policy (for example, activity logs may be retained for security, and transaction information for financial records).

Our initiative – suspension/blocking: We reserve the right to temporarily suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Service if:

  • You violate these Terms of Use or other policies (Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, etc.).
  • You use the Service in a way that may cause legal issues for us (for example, your actions could create liability for us toward third parties).
  • Unforeseen technical or security problems arise (for example, your activity accidentally causes system outages, or your account has been hacked and we detect it).
  • We discontinue the Service for all users (for example, if we shut down the project).

For less serious violations, we will generally apply suspension – i.e., we will temporarily block access and contact you to request that you remedy the violation (for example, remove unacceptable content or verify your identity if fraud is suspected). If the issue is not resolved within a reasonable time, or if the violation is severe and clear (for example, spreading malicious code, systematic rights violations, malicious actions), we reserve the right to deactivate your account without notice. In the case of deactivation (account blocking) due to a violation of the rules, unused subscription fees are not refunded and access to resume data may be lost.

Consequences of service termination: If your account is closed (whether by you or by us), these Terms generally cease to apply, but some provisions will remain in effect. In particular, the provisions regarding intellectual property, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution will survive. Your data will be handled according to the Privacy Policy (deleted or anonymized, except for the data that we have the right or obligation to retain).

7. Disclaimers of Warranties

CVlume is provided “as is” and “as available” – that is, with all possible faults, without any express or implied warranties.

We make significant efforts to ensure the service works reliably, is useful, and is secure. However, we do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will meet all of your expectations or needs.
  • Operation will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully protected from viruses or bugs. Occasional technical failures, interruptions, or temporary unavailability (for example, during maintenance) may occur.
  • AI-generated resume texts will be perfectly accurate, factual, and suitable for your particular situation. The AI model may make assumptions or mistakes, so we recommend that you thoroughly review and edit any automatically generated content before using it professionally. We cannot guarantee that using an AI-generated resume will result in getting a job or an interview; it is merely a tool to help you create a resume more quickly.

We disclaim all implied warranties, including (but not limited to) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. For example, we do not promise that your resumes will be accepted by every applicant tracking system (ATS) or approved by every recruiter – the final outcome depends on many factors beyond our control.

Disclaimer of liability for decisions based on the Service: You alone are responsible for the consequences of using or not using information obtained through CVlume. If our Service provides you with any career advice or assists you in creating a resume, that is not legal or professional advice and does not guarantee success.

In some jurisdictions certain disclaimers are prohibited, so the above exclusions may not fully apply to you. In such cases, our warranties are limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

No liability for certain types of damages: To the extent permitted by applicable law, neither CVlume nor its owners, partners, employees, or suppliers will be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use or inability to use our Service. This includes, for example, damages for loss of profits, loss of business reputation, loss of data, business interruption, or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Cap on liability: Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims related to the Service or these Terms is limited to the amount actually paid by you to us for using the Service in the last 6 months prior to the event giving rise to liability (or the price of a standard subscription if you made no payments). Thus, if you only used the free plan and paid nothing, our liability is fully excluded up to that amount.

Third-party services: Some features of the Service depend on third-party platforms (such as Google, Paddle, DigitalOcean, etc.). We are not responsible for failures, errors, or actions of these third parties. Although we have chosen reliable partners, an outage at Paddle or a data breach at DigitalOcean, for example, is outside our direct control, so we cannot be held liable for them. However, if such an event occurs, we will do our best to assist you in resolving the issue and protecting your interests.

Your relationship with employers: CVlume is not a recruitment agency or an employer. We do not engage in relationships between job seekers and companies. If you prepare a resume through our Service and send it to an employer, all further relations are solely between you and that party. We do not guarantee that your employment will be successful, and we are not responsible for any consequences of obtaining or not obtaining employment.

These limitations of liability apply to the fullest extent permitted by law in the relevant jurisdiction, regardless of whether liability arises from contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us (the Company, its owners, employees, and partners) from and against any claims, lawsuits, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs) arising out of or resulting from:

  • Your violation of these Terms or any other applicable policies (Privacy Policy, etc.).
  • Any content you uploaded or provided through the Service that infringes third-party rights or applicable law (for example, violates copyright or contains defamation).
  • Your improper use of the Service (including any illegal actions within it).
  • Your intentional harm to the Service’s reputation or attempts to interfere with its operation unlawfully.

We reserve the right to participate in (and control) the defense of any matter you are obligated to indemnify us against, but this does not relieve you of your obligations. You agree to cooperate with us as needed in the defense of any such claim.

10. Links to Third-Party Sites and Services

Our Service may contain links to websites or services of third parties that are not owned or controlled by CVlume (for example, links to career advice articles, or the integration with Paddle’s payment page, which is actually hosted on paddle.com). Providing such links does not imply endorsement or approval of the third-party resources by us.

We do not control the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services and are not responsible for them. If you follow third-party links, you do so at your own risk. We recommend that you review the terms of use and privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

11. Assignment of Rights

CVlume may transfer or delegate its rights and obligations under these Terms (in whole or in part) in the event of, for example, reorganization, merger, or sale of the business. In such a case, the new owner will be bound by these Terms with respect to you. You do not have the right to transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Any attempt to transfer this agreement without consent will be void.

12. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, as our business is registered in Ukraine. If you use the Service from another country (for example, an EU member state or the USA), please be aware that mandatory laws of your country or state may also apply, including consumer protection rules. In the event of a conflict, those mandatory laws will take precedence over this choice of law.

Jurisdiction: Any disputes that cannot be resolved by negotiation within a reasonable time shall be submitted to the courts of general jurisdiction of Ukraine (unless mandatory laws of your country or state provide otherwise). This does not limit your right as a consumer to bring claims in the courts of your place of residence, if so permitted by law.

Pre-litigation dispute resolution: We value our users and aim to resolve issues amicably. If you have a complaint or dispute, please write to us first. We will consider your issue in good faith and try to offer a resolution. Court proceedings should be a last resort.

Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis. This means that you will not aggregate your claims with those of other users in the form of a class (collective) action against us, except where such a right is explicitly guaranteed by the laws of your country or state (for example, in the EU or certain US states).

13. Miscellaneous

Entire agreement: These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy and other documents referenced herein) constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of CVlume and supersede all prior oral or written agreements on this subject.

Waivers: If at any point we do not enforce a right or do not immediately react to your breach of these Terms, that does not mean we waive that right or agree to overlook other breaches. For example, if you violate a rule and we do not immediately impose sanctions, we still have the right to do so later or if you repeat the violation.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or invalid (for example, by a court), that does not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. The invalid provision will be treated as severed from the Terms, and other provisions will remain in effect. We will replace such a provision with another provision that is as close as possible in intent to the original and legally valid.

Relationship of the Parties: Your use of the Service and these Terms does not create any partnership, employment relationship, agency, or joint venture between us. We are independent parties. You have no authority to make statements or assume obligations on our behalf.

Force Majeure: We are not liable for any failure or delay in fulfilling our obligations if caused by events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure events). These may include, for example, natural disasters, war, terrorist acts, mass power outages, national-scale hacking attacks, and similar events.

14. Contact Information (for Questions about the Terms)

If you have any questions or concerns about these Terms, or if you wish to report a potential violation, please contact us:

We will try to respond to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for using CVlume and following these rules! We wish you success in creating the perfect resume.
